Excuse Our Dust

We launched this site more than three years ago, and now it's time for a
face lift.  We're just finishing our latest expansion, and now we need to
feature our new restaurant, art gallery and new staff members.

We're adding lots of new content and new features, so be patient.

Thanks!

I've learned once again to never say "never." I vowed in this very space that Carpe Vino would never operate a restaurant. . .it is simply too much work and it would divert us from our primary goal of selling wine.

Then we met Courtney McDonald and now we're in the restaurant game.

Courtney is a talented young chef with true credentials: she is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. She comes to us via the Monte Verde Inn and Bootlegger's.

A native of Auburn, Courtney picked up and headed to New York to learn her craft. While in school, she met Eric Alexander, and after graduation, they worked in restaurants in Washington, D.C., and Connecticut before returning to Auburn.

Simply put, Courtney is one of the most driven, hard-working people I've ever encountered, and she puts all of her energy and creativity into her craft.
Carpe Vino's Courtney McDonald

She started out here by creating our regular appetizer, prix fixe and dessert menus before we ratched up our game with wine dinners.

Our first event featured a dinner with Jeff Runquist, and people loved the wine but raved about the food. Court and Eric sample all of the wines before they create a menu, and you can really taste the difference.

All wine dinners are five or six courses and prices include all wines served. Tax and tip are extra. Prices range from $65 to $200 per person, depending on the winery being featured.

Dinners are served in the Wine Mine, which is a fantastic setting. We serve no more than 24 people per event, and so far dinners have sold out quickly.
Diners are invited to enjoy cigars on the patio when dinner is finished.

And, of course, we encourage our guests to consider purchasing wines that they tasted during the evening. We strive to include wines not normally available in regular distribution.

We hope you'll consider spending an evening with us soon.
