![]() Wine Club Tasting Notes, September 2010Prime Time for Red Wine is Back! With harvest already commencing in some regions of the state, cool weather is just around the corner and it can’t come soon enough for Drew and me. It means red wine lovers will soon be coming out of the woodwork, seeking new vintages. . .and they don’t want to pay too much! Well, we’ve got some great news on that front because we’ve scored some terrific wines at even better pricing. It’s a buyer’s market for wine these days, and the deals just keep coming. . .as evidenced by the response to “Gary’s Wine Deal of the Week” from our growing client base of wine fans around the country. Be sure to watch for my emails on our latest find; we’re tracking down impressive values but our supplies are usually exhausted within a week. This month’s Wine Club presents some interesting wines from unusual sources: a nice summer-ending sipping wine from Boz Scaggs and the return of M100, a tribute to a 100-year-old grandmother. And this is a time when our “red-only” people will have something to regret. . .we’ve got a very impressive Sauvignon Blanc sourced from the Santa Lucia Highlands. Our hope is these wines will enable more joy in your life and that you’ll share them with friends! - Gary Moffat
