Join us for “555 Tasting” Every Friday
So many wines, so little time. That’s the way it appears to many Carpe Vino visitors who lust after the 40 bottles of wine we have open for tasting every day. Now, we’re making it easy and affordable to sample anything we have open with our new 555 Tasting: Any day before 5 p.m. you can select five of the wines we have open at the bar and get one-ounce pours of each for just $5. Makes no difference if the retail cost of the bottle is $15 or $50, it’s still just five bucks for the custom flight you design.

The idea here is that you get to enjoy what is the equivalent of nearly a full glass of wine at a very modest price. And our hope is you discover new wines that you love and decide to take home. . .a few bottles, or maybe even a case.

The 555 Tasting is available any day we are open from noon until 5 p.m. There are some rules: This tasting is absolutely not available after 5 p.m.; we prefer each person order their own tasting (no sharing, please); and please do not ask us to open wine that is not already on our daily tasting list.

Other than that, have at it!

Online Wine Shop to Open Soon
We sold wine online when we first opened the shop, but we got out of the business because it was strictly a price game. Our shtick is to seek out low-production, hard-to-find, great-tasting wines at value pricing.

Long story short, we’re putting up a new wine store to feature wines tasted in our videos, Placer County wines and special values we are promoting at any given time. Our goal is to limit the number of wines available in our online store to 25 to 50 selections.

This will be a service to the many fans of Carpe Vino who live outside of the area and can’t get in to buy wine in the flesh. We’ll give it a shot and see what happens.

Look for an announcement within the next couple of weeks.
