JAX Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Winery Tasting Notes:  On the nose, this astonishing wine entices with generous aromas of blueberry and dark cherry, wild sage and lilacs. On the palate, its mouth-filling texture is perfectly balanced with bright acidity and a beautiful core of ripe fruit, followed by an incredibly persistent mineral and herbal finish. Its fine-grained tannins and weight without heaviness ensure that it is drinkable now but will age for many years to come. Aged for 21 months in French oak, 70% new.

Fun Facts: JAX Vineyards sources this estate Cabernet Sauvignon from the family’s vineyard in northern Calistoga. David Jackson purchased the family vineyard after 5 years of searching for his ideal terroir encompassing alluvial loam soil, dry farmed vineyards, and the elemental protection of our little valley. The JAX name represents an updated twist and memorable abbreviation of the family name.
