Big Day of Giving is Huge Success

Back on May 6 nearly 400 non-profits in the Sacramento region cooperated in a massive fundraiser called “Big Day of Giving”.  The idea was for people to donate any amount to the charities of your choice in just 24 hours.  Almost 19,000 people contributed more than $3 million, vastly exceeding anticipated results.

Carpe Vino participated by offering a free glass of wine to anyone who donated $25 or more during the event, and we had a nice showing that afternoon. . .including Veronica Blake, CEO of the Placer Community foundation.  We also challenged our customers to donate to our favorite local charity, the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet.  We started it off with a $500 contribution, and many of our customers followed suite.  In all, the AIFC raised nearly $10,000 during the event.
