Carpe Vino Presents: Frank Family Wines

For this Saturday’s Wine Club Member Tasting, we are featuring the Frank Family Wines.  From 12noon to 4pm, we will have 5 different wines for you to “try before you buy.”  That’s a tasting value alone of $330, and it’s all part of your Wine Club benefit. We will only have a small amount open, so to make sure you get a taste, arrive early.  Due to the exclusive value of this awesome tasting, it is only available for Wine Club Members.  Worry not!  There will be many events similar to this, so if your friends want to partake in the future, tell them they should join the amazing Carpe Vino Wine Club!
Here is what we are pouring:

 

2012 Frank Family Chardonnay (Carneros)

$33.95/bottle or $28.50/bottle on six +

Winery Tasting Notes:
“The expressive 2012 Carneros Chardonnay is fruit forward and balanced, delivering scents of pear, apple, butterscotch and pineapple, laced with delicate floral notes of honeysuckle. The attack is layered with succulent stone fruit flavors and buttery, toasted pastry dough. The lively acidity, combined with a rich creaminess and almond toffee flavors, give this wine a long, pleasing finish.The expressive 2012 Carneros Chardonnay is fruit forward and balanced, delivering scents of pear, apple, butterscotch and pineapple, laced with delicate floral notes of honeysuckle. Jay’s Take:  “A classic Carneros Chardonnay.  Big, rich, and bold with a long finish that will have you begging for more.”

 

 

 

2012 Frank Family “Lewis Vineyard” Chardonnay (Carneros)

Winery Tasting Notes:
“The Frank Family Vineyards 2012 Lewis Vineyard Reserve Chardonnay is pale straw in color and has scents of mouthwatering roasted almonds, citrus flowers, and rich meyer-lemon meringue.This full bodied wine is lively on the palette showcasing concentrated flavors of peach, pear, and lychee nut which are balanced by sweet vanilla and a hint of cedar from the French oak barrels. The wine’s stunning finish will have you dreaming of the finest French creme brulee.”

Jay’s Take:  “This reserve chardonnay takes it up a notch. This full bodied chard is complex yet finishes with finesse.  We have limited quatites stock, but we can get more.”

 

 

 

2011 Frank Family Cabernet (Napa Valley)

Winery Tasting Notes:
“Opens with rich scents of black fruit and cedar. This wine is fruit-forward with intense cassis, plum and blackberry flavors, it’s balanced with notes of tobacco, spice, and a solid structure for length on the palate, finishing with a touch of dark chocolate. 20 months in 30% new and 70% once and twice-filled French oak barrels.”

Jay’s Take:  “I’ve always found the Napa Valley Frank Family Cab a solid choice for under 50 bucks.  This wine is composed of 87% Cabernet, 9% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cab Franc.”

 

 

 

2009 Frank Family “Winston Hill” Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

Winery Tasting Notes:
88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5 % Cabernet Franc, 4 % Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot “Deep and dense magenta tones give sense of concentration and power. The bouquet opens with a seductive combination of blueberry reduction, brown sugar and spice, while hints of violets and sage scents highlight this expressive blend. Pure and round, the wine palate reflects intensity and depth of flavors with an elegant silky texture that is loaded yet refined.”

Jay’s Take:  “I can’t believe we will have this wine open!  What a treat this wine is!  We have a few on hand, but we can get more for those who can’t live without it.”

 

 

 

2011 Frank Family Zinfandel (Napa Valley)

Winery Tasting Notes:
“With a dark magenta core and ruby hues around the rim, the 2011 Napa Valley Zinfandel delivers a delicate scent of red fruit and violets, while hints of sandalwood, sage and pepper embellish the sophisticated nose. The finesse on the palate reflects an elegant Zinfandel that is well balanced. Juicy black cherry pie and adequate levels of oak marry seamlessly.”

Jay’s Take:  “I’m excited about this Zin!.  It is composed of 89% Zinfandel and just 11% Petite Sirah to round it out.  Yum!”
