Chef Alexander Gets Full Page in Sactown Magazine

Really cool to finally see our beloved Chef Eric Alexander get some richly deserved recognition in the Sacramento media.  Being situated far from the epicenter of Sacramento’s dining scene, it’s not often that we hear from food critics here in Auburn.  But Chef Alexander is truly that good, and it is rewarding for all of us to see his work featured in the June/July issue of Sactown Magazine, on newsstands now.

The magazine runs a regular feature called “Home Plate,” in which local chefs prepare a meal using seasonal foods sourced locally.  Chef Alexander’s presentation was “Leomon Verbena Roasted Chicken for Two,” beautifully rendered in a color photo.

Chef Alexander described each dish and the farm where he purchased ingredients.  The centerpiece was a pasture raised chicken obtained from Dinner Bell Farm in Chicago Park owned by our good friends Molly and Paul (Molly sells chickens and produce just about every Saturday morning at the Auburn Farmers’ Market).  Other farms highlighted were Ueki Farm in Auburn, the Natural Trading Company in Newcastle and Jollity Farm in Garden Family.

Look for the piece on page 112.  Congratulations Eric!
