Tonight marks WEEK 3 of our current “To-Go” Menu and Curbside Pick-Up here at Carpe Vino. This week, we will be offering our famous “CHICAGO DOGS” and something completely new, delivery service to LAKE OF THE PINES. Read below for more details!
From the depths of our hearts, “THANK YOU” to all of those who have been supporting Carpe Vino and CV Wine & Spirits. We would also like to say “THANK YOU” to all of those who have supported other local businesses in Old Town Auburn, Downtown Auburn, North Auburn, Placer County…you just don’t know how thankful we all are when your dollars STAY LOCAL! We are working tirelessly to sustain and survive this ordeal and we are continuing to evolve daily. Our goal is to still be standing at the finish line and with your continued support we will be there!
HERE IS HOW TO ORDER “TO-GO” FOR CURBSIDE PICK-UP:
• Place order online by selecting items from the dropdown(s) below and completing all information requested at the bottom of the order form. ALL PRICES LISTED INCLUDE TAX
• Select your preferred pick-up time between 4PM-7PM.
• All orders must be placed online 45mins before arrival. Online orders will be accepted until 6:15pm with final pick-up at 7pm.
• All orders must be pre-paid and processed successfully before prepared.
• If you graciously decide to add a “gratuity” please know it will be dispersed amongst all of our furloughed staff members.
“CHICAGO DOGS” AVAILABLE!
If you know Carpe Vino, then you know that “CHICAGO-DOGS” are kind of our jam! As soon as the pandemic was announced, we connected with our supplier and purchased 1000 Chi-Dogs. Yes, that is something we never thought we would say, “We’ll take 1000 dogs!!!”
During this unprecedented time, we thought the “CHICAGO DOG” would bring a little sense of normalcy and comfort to many. We hope we are right!
Due to the high-demand and “to-go” only service, we had to put restrictions on how we will be serving our Chicago Dogs. To mitigate congestion, resources and time, we are offering only “DOUBLE-DOGS” on the menu. Legendary Cubs shortstop Ernie Banks always said, “Let’s Play Two.” At Carpe Vino we are saying “LET’S EAT TWO!”
We will be offering these “Double Dogs” two different ways:
OPTION 1: “NAKED DOGS” – Two hot dogs in two buns, with two bags of chips.
OPTION 2: “WALK THRU THE GARDEN” – TWO “CHICAGO DOGS,” with all the fixins’ and two bags of chips.
DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, “TO-GO” ONLY, WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL ORDERS.
What is on a Chicago Dog? – It all starts with essential raw materials imported from the Windy City: poppy seed buns, steamed before serving; all-beef Vienna brand hot dogs; neon green relish; sport peppers; dill pickle spear; tomato, onion and yellow mustard (French’s is traditional). The secret ingredient is celery salt (plus Tim Dube’s expertise); the poppy seed bun is essential. Oh…and no ketchup. Sorry!
LOCAL BEER & WINE AVAILABLE “TO-GO”
Yes, CV Wine & Spirits is still open for “daily” business, but we wanted to create an easy way for you to purchase some “local” beer and wine producers that we have supported over the years. Along with the new food items, we will also be offering BEER from two LOCAL BREWERIES; AUBURN ALEHOUSE & LOOMIS BASIN BREWERY for sale (pre-chilled) “to-go” at retail pricing (tax included). Wine you ask? You will be able to ORDER WINE from two LOCAL WINERIES; CASQUE WINES & LONE BUFFALO VINEYARDS, again at retail price with tax included! All beer, white, rose and sparkling wine will be pre-chilled for your satisfaction and enjoyment.
There are many amazing breweries, distilleries & wineries throughout Placer County and Northern California that need you support. These four businesses have partnered with Carpe Vino since their inception and all have been a staple on our by-the-glass menu and/or wine list for nearly a decade. There are many options of wine/spirits still available to purchase at CV WINE & SPIRITS, but we wanted to limit our “TO-GO” menu options to our local partners only. Thank you.

WHY? Well, one of Carpe Vino’s owners, Drew Moffat along with longtime partner Jana Shepherd, have lived in LAKE OF THE PINES for the past 10+ years. We love our community and realize that options for food are limited in our area. Since each and everyday, Drew will be driving back to LOP, we figured why not see if anyone wanted to order some items off our “TO-GO” MENU and save the trip to town. As long as you spend $50+ on your order, we will deliver for free! Here’s how:
LAKE OF THE PINES RESIDENTS “FREE DELIVERY” on ORDERS $50 or more!

• UPON CHECKOUT SELECT “LOP” RESIDENT
• ENTER DELIVERY ADDRESS
• All orders must be placed online by 3:30PM (no orders will be accepted after 3:30 for delivery). TRUCK LEAVES AUBURN at 5PM and will DELIVER between 5:30-6:30pm in LOP
• All orders must be pre-paid and processed successfully before delivered.
• If you graciously decide to add a “gratuity” please know it will be dispersed amongst all of our furloughed staff members.
DELIVERIES:
• Deliveries will be made between 5:30-6:30pm
• Recipient will be notified via text message 5-10 mins before arrival.
• No silverware or napkins will be provided.
ALL “TIPS” GO TO CV FURLOUGHED EMPLOYEES
When processing your “to-go” order you will see a line for “gratuities.” We want to be perfectly clear that all gratuities applied to your final bill will be COLLECTED & DISTRIBUTED to all our furloughed employees (now and through the duration). Some team members will have a difficult time making ends meet and any/all contributions are greatly appreciated.

One of the greatest little “bottle shops” in Northern California is still open and ready to do business. With the restaurant closed for dine-in service, we have shifted much of its inventory to CVW&S! We’re stocked up and ready! WE CAN SHIP!!!
