CV Presents: Mi Sueno Winery

Every Saturday, Carpe Vino has some very special wines available for Wine Club Members. This Saturday, from 12noon to 4pm, stop by and taste the amazing wines from Mi Sueno Winery. We are featuring 4 wines from their awesome collection with a total tasting value of almost $200, that you surely won’t want to miss.  There will be a nominal tasting fee of $10-per-person, however, the good news is that we will waive the tasting charge when you purchase six or more bottles of the featured wines in any combination.  We have every expectation that our Wine Club Members will understand why we are doing this, due to value of the wines being tasted.  So, enough with the formalities, and here is this weeks stunning lineup from Mi Sueno!

2010 Mi Sueno “Los Carneros” Chardonnay (Carneros)

MSCHLCglow3.102821$37.95/bottle or $27.95/bottle on six +

Winery Tasting Notes:
“Nestled right next to the San Pablo Bay in the Los Carneros Appellation, our Tierra Blanca Vineyard couldn’t be happier to be in such a cool and beautiful climate. Round and rich, but not hollow and flabby. On the contrary, this wine yields high acidity and minerality, which contributes to its refreshing qualities. Rolando’s first four years of production were dedicated to just producing Chardonnay. While working at Chateau Potelle and Paul Hobbs, Rolando fell in love with native yeast fermentation; hence the exotic features of this wine.”

Jay’s Take: “This is the same great chardonnay that was featured earlier this year.  We still have the same great discount on it, but look for the winery to raise prices.  So, stock up while you can.”

MSPNRRglow1.103144$47.95/bottle or $29.95/bottle on six +

Tasting Notes:
A seductive blend of freshly plucked rose petals, pomegranate, ripe red fruit and roasted almonds offers a dazzling and senses tingling bouquet. A silky, velvety mouth-feel is balanced and pleasing to the very last drop.

Jay’s Take: “Beautifully crafted classic pinot noir from the Russian River AVA.  Great fruit and balance with that silky texture so desired in pinot noir.”

2010 Mi Sueno “El Llano” Red Wine

napavalley_elllano_glow_lg.103336$42/bottleReg. Wine Club Discounts Apply

Tasting Notes:
The 2010 is full of dark fruits, fine grain leather, graphite, cedar and black pepper, dark chocolate all with a garnish of cinnamon. The silky tannin and bright acidity in this wine from a cooler vintage indicate great promise for long-term aging and versatility with many foods. El Llano is a Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from our vineyards in both the Coombsville and Oak Knoll AVAs.

Jay’s Take: “This fantastic blend is comprised of mostly cabernet and the rest syrah.  This wine has great fruit with big spice and is velvety on the palate while exuding a long fantastic finish.”

2010 Mi Sueno Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

MSCSNVglow2.103531$69.95/bottleReg. Wine Club Discounts Apply

Tasting Notes:
While the warm Coombsville days deliver big, bold, full-bodied Cabernet, the cool nights help to maintain their natural acidity. The results are a mouth-pleasing array of freshly roasted espresso bean, mocha, ripe black fruits and creamy white chocolate. Adding to your pleasure is a complex display of chewy, well-integrated tannins that are further enhanced by the toasted oak you would expect from premium French barrels.

Jay’s Take: “Only 600 cases were produced of this big, full-bodied cab.  Ripe fruit with just enough tannin and oak, this wine is showing well now, and would be a fantastic addition to anyone’s cellar.”
