“Our 2013 Twomey Estate Sauvignon Blanc beautifully combines citrus, pear, and green apple characters in a complex and balanced expression of this exciting varietal.  It has a light straw color and a nose of grapefruit rind, juniper berry, star fruit, grean apple, pear and elderberry flower.  It has juicy, fruit-sweet attack with notes of honey and citrus on the palate.  The wine has a long, lingering, fresh fruit finish.”

Jay’s Take:  “Just in time for the wonderful hot California weather.  The 2013 Twomey Sauvignon Blanc is so crisp and refreshing, each sip will have you begging for more!”

TwomeyPN1.1530592012 Twomey Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley)

$50/bottle or $45/bottle on six +

Winemaker’s Notes:
“Our 2012 Twomey Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a rich, multi-faceted wine with great fruit and spice expression.  It has dark, cherry-red color and a complex nose of potpourri, ripe strawberries, cardamom, nutmeg and peat.  It has a fruit-sweet attack, a fleshy mid-palate and notes of blond tobacco and coffee bean on the long and slightly tannic finish.  With proper cellaring, this wine will give drinking pleasure through 2024.”

Jay’s Take:  “This pinot noir is a blend of two vineyards in the Russian River Valley.  The West Pin Vineyard, and Crinella Vineyard.  The 2012 vintage was a remarkable vintage for pinot noir, and this pinot noir ‘checks all boxes’ for nose, palate, and finsh.”

Winemaker’s Notes:
“The 2006 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon combines full body and richness with moderate alcohol.  It has a garnet color and a nose of cassis liquer, nutmeg, and dark chocolate.  On the palate, it has a rich, mouth-coating attack, great expression of fruit, a full-body and beautifully integrated tannins that lead to a long, spicy finish.  Given proper cellaring, this will give drinking pleasure through 2026.”

Jay’s Take:  “This one is a no brainer here!  Silver Oak really pulled out all the stops by re-releasing this 2006 Cabernet.  Once again showing their winemaking prowess on how well their wines are made, and how beautiful they can become with cellaring.”

2009 Silver Oak “Napa Valley” Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

Winemaker’s Notes:
“Our 2009 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a ripe, rich, layered, yet elegant wine.  It has a dark, ruby color and a complex nose of cassis jam, mocha, violets and nutmeg.  On the palate, the wine has a delectable berry-laden entry and a rich, mouth-coating mid-palate.  The tannins are beautifully integrated and the wine has a long, satiny finish. Given proper cellaring, this wine should give drinking pleasure through 2032.”

Jay’s Take:  “Perhaps the flagship of Silver Oak, the 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet is composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot.  The 2009 offers up great ripeness and balance, that we all have come to know and love in Silver Oak Cab’s.”
