Our Summer “Sunday Evening Series” is Jammed
We’ve been working diligently to pack our summer calendar with premium events to fill out our “Sunday Evening Series” through September. Here are confirmed events, with details to forthcoming. Keep following Window on Old Town because we’re hoping to add a few more dates.
July 19, National Hot Dog Day: Okay, July 19th is a Wednesday, but we’ll be rolling out our newly spiffed-up cart to celebrate this national holiday with an evening of Chicago Hot Dogs. We added a tow hitch to our GEM electric truck, so don’t be surprised to see our rig on the street (we’ll be in the Auburn July 4th Parade).
July 23, Midsummer’s Night Feast: We’re going Medieval to celebrate the success of one of favorite customers, Gail Halverson, whose recently published first novel, “Boundary Stone,” debuted to critical acclaim, earning a Chatelaine Award for romantic fiction in Chanticleer Book Review’s International Writing Competition. Chef Alexander is creating a Renaissance menu fit for a king and his court, details to be announced soon. Each couple or individual guest also will receive a signed copy of Boundary Stone.
August 20, BBQue Two: Our recent “Memphis ‘Que” event was such a smokin’s success, we’ve decided to reprise the program with a new menu featuring Pitmaster Spencer Smith’s finest. This is a complete dinner for $44.95 per person ++. We’ll be announcing details early in August when we start taking reservations.
September 24, La Vie Rustic: We’re very pleased to announce that James Beard Award winning cookbook author Georgeanne Brennan will join us for a prix-fixe dinner and book signing. Ms. Brennan, who splits her time between homes in Winters and Provence, has just published her 31st cookbook, this one featuring the simple, rustic fare of Provence. Chef Alexander will use the cookbook as the basis for a menu that evening. Details and pricing will be forthcoming, but you’ll take home a copy of the book.
