DID SOMEONE SAY CAYMUS??? Tasting Saturday 10/8 ~ 1-4PM

That’s right! That’s not a misprint! Carpe Vino Wine Club Members get to taste the heralded wines from the Wagner Family…AGAIN!!! We featured the Wagner Family of Wines earlier in the year however this time we changed it up a bit and are offering a different line-up. With so many wonderful wines in their portfolio it was extremely hard narrowing it down but we think you’ll enjoy the tried and true’s we selected. The Wagner Family Wine/Caymus tastings have been some of the most popular over the years here at CV so to get the best selection don’t wait until the last minute to check these out. Here is what we are pouring: (please remember two-person maximum per wine club membership, no guests)

2014 Conundrum Sparkling Wine (California)

$24.95/bottle or $19.95/bottle on 6+

Winery Tasting Notes: “Our test of a sparkling wine is drinking the second glass, which should be just as memorable as the first. Conundrum Sparkling is a wine that is drinkable, uncomplicated, elegant and fun with delicate scents of melon and citrus. Crisp flavors of freshly cut fruit come through on the palate, with warm notes of white peach and honeydew layered with a minerality that evokes the clean impression of wet stone. Each sip of this wine lingers in the mouth, with bright lemon and lime and a long, sensuous finish. Serve well-chilled.”

2014Silver-sdw.1557062014 Mer Soliel “Unoaked” Chardonnay (Monterey)

$24.99/bottle or $19.99/bottle on 6+

Winery Tasting Notes: “This unoaked wine captures the pure, clean expression of Chardonnay from our Mer Soleil Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County. The mineral essence is reminiscent of the classic Chablis style with the elements found in Chardonnays from the Pacific Coastline. These grapes are fermented in cement tanks, without oak contact.”

2014 Belle Glos “Las Alturas” Pinot Noir (SLH/Monterey)

Winery Tasting Notes:“Intriguing aromas of sun-warmed blackberries, and ripe plums, with hints of black licorice. Blackberries and bing cherries meld with dark chocolate flavors. Vanilla and cedar oak undertones on the mid-palate further enhance this wine.”

2014CaymusNapaValley750mlSDW2.1559592014 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) 1 LITER BOTTLES

Winery Tasting Notes: ” The 2014 growing season was another great one in Napa Valley. Our Cabernets are a blend of wines from eight of the sixteen sub-appellations – a bottling that represents complexity through judicious blending. Deep red and opulent in color with the vibrant scent of dark cherry and blackberry, subtly layered with warm notes of vanilla. The palate is explosive, bright and balanced with cassis at the center, with flourishes of cocoa and sweet tobacco.”
