Yesterday we brought you some exciting news that for the next two Saturday’s we will pouring the wines from the PlumpJack Family! The line-up will include the 2013 Adaptation Chardonnay, 2014 PlumpJack Merlot, 2013 Adaptation Petite Sirah and the 2013 PLUMPJACK ESTATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON!!!

In today’s email we give you a detail breakdown of each wine being poured along with the pricing/discounts that will be available to CVWC members on Saturday. Take note, the 2013 Adaptation Chardonnay will have a very generous discount (Saturday) that we are unable to publish online or via email. Just like Duckhorn and Merry Edwards, this is a very unique opportunity that we are proud to offer to our CVWC members.

With such an unbelievable line-up and a retail value of over $250 worth of wine being tasted per person, this happens to be one of the rare occasions where we will require a $10/tasting fee per person. We offer over 50+ complimentary tastings a year (which is unprecedented in the retail wine shop world…or anywhere), but for this we have to charge a minimal amount to help subsidize some of the cost. This is still a HUGE, HUGE VALUE, because even if you were to go to PlumpJack winery in person…it would cost you between $40-$65 (per person) to taste! No reservation is required Saturday, but this is limited to TWO people per wine club membership (no guests please). OH…and if the bar is slammed…c’mon in anyway because we have now opened up the restaurant tables for overflow during the hours of 1-4pm. You can sit/relax enjoy your spouse or friend(s) grab some nibbles and hang out! Can’t wait to see you…Cheers!

2013 Adaptation Chardonnay (Napa Valley)

$31.95/btl (Special Pricing To WC Members Saturday)

Winery Tasting Notes: Fermented and aged mostly in stainless steel, this approachable style showcases the fruit purity and true essence of Napa Valley Chardonnay in a great vintage. This wine displays aromas of melons, Bartlett pear, and acacia flower followed on the palate by flavors of granny smith apple, banana, kiwi, spearmint, a touch of creaminess and fresh acidity.

 

2014 PlumpJack Merlot (Napa Valley)

$62/btl retail or $52.70/btl on 6+ (mix/match)

Winery Tasting Notes: “The impeccable 2014 vintage blessed this wine with aromas of raspberry, black cherry, and white flowers, with dashes of mint and earth in the background. The barrels sprinkle in some subtle spice, smoke, and vanilla flavors helping round out the bouquet. The palate is silky upon entry and ascends to a full-bodied and rich midpalate. The bright acid and beautiful structure give this wine great tension, balance, and persistence on the finish. The cherry and raspberry flavors stand out on the palate and the wine finishes with cocoa and vanilla.”

 

 

 

2013 PlumpJack ESTATE Cabernet Sauvignon (Oakville)

“Wine Advocate” Tasting Notes: 96 Points “The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Oakville is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot aged in 80% new French oak. A beautiful, saturated purple color offers up blackberry, crème de cassis, licorice, charcoal and camphor. Full-bodied, yet still youthful and tight, it is bursting with terrific purity, texture and length. This big, classic Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon will hit its prime in 10-15 years, and last 30 or more years, based on how older vintages from this sector have aged. It’s a beauty.”

“Wine Spectator” Tasting Notes: 94 Points “Charming from the first sip, this is openly rich, dense and fruity, concentrated and focused, built on a core of gravelly graphite, cedar and blackberry flavors. Turns creamy, with mocha-scented oak adding a tempting dimension. Drink now through 2030.”

 

2013 Adaptation Petite Sirah (Napa Valley)

$45/btl or $38.25/btl on 6+ (mix/match)

Winery Tasting Notes: “The 2013 Adaptation Petite Sirah is crafted from two of our favorite Napa Valley vineyards, Kennefick Ranch Vineyard in Calistoga, and Langtry Vineyard located just outside of Pope Valley in the Northeastern corner of the Napa Valley. Thriving in the warm climate that these two vineyard sites provide, the resulting wine is truly expressive of the respective terroir.”
