Nothing but sparkling wines this week for Saturday Wine Club Member tasting! That’s right, you read that correctly, all BUBBLES! From Champagne to Crémant to Cava to Prosecco, CV has it all! So, come on down between 1 P.M. & 4 P.M. to taste/stock up on some excellent NYE vino. Saldo (by PWC) Zinfandel 2013 (California)

Winery Tasting Notes: “Saldo is the prototypical Zinfandel, produced from a blend of some of California?s most renowned Zinfandel vineyards and regions. Our select growers include historic vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Lake Amador, Mendocino, and Contra Costa counties. The word “Saldo” is of Latin origin often referring to “from here and there” or in this case, representing our sourcing of Zinfandel from regions “here and there” across Northern California. This rich wine displays aromas of black fruits and baked blueberry pie with a dense concentration of flavor and smooth tannins with a peppery finish.”

Winery Tasting Notes: Grenache, Syrah, Petite Sirah “As soon as a glass is poured, aromatic notes of Luxardo cherries, ripe black plums and raspberries billow, with intricate hints of coffee, mocha and caramel in the background. The entry is expansive with dark briar fruits, cola and cocoa with tannins that are soft and dusty. The wine finishes with a hint of wild cherry and a lingering sweet oak presence.”

Black currant and kirsch provide background to lively raspberry and cherry notes that create a near endless finish.”
