Six generations of skill and expertise have culminated in producing these wines from vines as old as120 years. The term “Klinker Brick” describes the highly-prized bricks that architects would use on many of the historical buildings in Lodi. They were sought after for their distinctive deep rich color and enormous density which is the perfect metaphor to describe the wines from this esteemed winery. So, mark your calendars and come on down to CV to taste/stock up on some incredible vino! (please remember two person maximum per wine club membership).
2016 Klinker Brick Albariño (Lodi)
$14.95/bottle or $12.75/bottle on 6+
Winery Tasting Notes:
“Lighter than previous vintages, this Spanish-style Albariño is clear and vivid with a dazzling light golden hue. Aromas of stone fruit, pear, and honeydew melon lead into full, elegant flavors of green apple and peach laced with subtle minerality. With a crisp, clean and balanced palate, the Albariño is prime to drink instantly. Best paired with fresh white fish, chicken and a variety of cheeses.”
2014 Old Ghost (by Klinker Brick) Zinfandel (Lodi)
$42.99/bottle or $34.95/bottle on 6+
Winery Tasting Notes:
“The Old Ghost represents the best Zinfandel that Klinker Brick produces each year. Brambleberry fruit aromas intermingled with anise, clove and exotic spice, echo previous vintages. Smaller berries harvested from this vineyard block tend to offer more “skin to flesh,” providing a greater level of smooth yet firm tannin and structure to this wine. Pair with your prime porterhouse or grilled lamb.”
2013 Klinker Brick “1850°” Red Wine (Lodi)
$26.95/bottle or $22.95/bottle on 6+
Winery Tasting Notes:
“1850° is a unique Lodi red wine blend designed by our winemaker and is comprised of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Petite Sirah and 10% Old Vine Zinfandel. Aromatics of black currant, blackberry, black licorice, eucalyptus and just a hint of black pepper create an enticing aroma. On the palate, dense layers of raspberries and ripe stone fruit are coupled with cinnamon and spice. 1850° is the temperature at which a Klinker Brick is fired.”
2014 Klinker Brick “Farrah” Syrah (Lodi)
$20.00/bottle or $17.00/bottle on 6+
Winery Tasting Notes:
“The 2014 Syrah exhibits aromas of ripe plum, cacao, and smoky oak with subtle earthy and floral notes. The palate is greeted with bright and vibrant flavors of blackberry, anise and exotic spices. Supple tannins and superb balance lend structure to this full-bodied Syrah with a long, lingering finish. Enjoy with grilled meats or mushroom risotto.”
