Tasting Features Four Regions of Italy

It won’t be all play, however.  We’re very excited (really) to announce that Natalia will conduct a tasting of four Italian wines she has selected from four distinct regions of Italy–Sicily, Sardinia, Veneto and Abruzzo–with pairings created by Chef Alexander.

Here are the wines Natalia will extol through her personal introductions along with the appetizers to be paired, created by Chef Alexander:

• 2013 Tenuta Terravia Montepulciano D’Abruzzo Lui (Abruzzo) Selection of Italian Salumi and Cheeses with Seasonal Condiments, Nuts and Crostini (Stationary Platters)

• 2011 Cristo Di Campobello Lu Patri Nero d’Avola (Sicily) Sicilian Lamb Meatball with Currants, Pine Nuts and Smoked Eggplant Purée

• 2011 Monte Cariano Valpolicella Classico Superiore Rippaso (Veneto) Fried Duck Confit Arancini with Amarena Cherry, Arugula and Parmigiano Reggiano

• 2014 Mesa Cantina BUIO Carignano del Sulcis (Sardinia) Fregola Salad with Sheep Ricotta, Wild Mushroom, Roasted Onions, Cabbage and Red Wine Vinaigrette

Our Italian Tasting & Pairing is set for Sunday, February 26 at 4 p.m. The cost is $45 per person plus tax and tip. Of course, if you find wines you’d like to take home, we’ll be taking orders.

Since this event is on a Sunday afternoon when we are normally closed, we are unable to take reservations on OpenTable.com.  Please call the restaurant at 530-823-0320 to reserve; we have room for 40 people, and 30 spots are available.
