The World Series Comes to Old Town Auburn Tonight
We’ve got a 15′ Jumbotron on Plaza; Game Time 5:08
No ticket to the World Series finale between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians? Not to worry because if you join us in Old Town tonight, you’ll have a front row seat for the 15′ Jumbotron we’re bringing to the Plaza tonight.
Drew and I are lifelong Cub fans, and we never imagined that our hometown team would be locked in such a pitched battle for the coveted Fall Classic title. We wanted to do something very special for local baseball fans, so we reached out to our customer, Derek Clark who owns Visible Display. He’s dropping off a mammoth high-res display that will be set up center stage in front of the Station “A” Post office.
Street closures will be held to a minimum and will commence at 3 p.m.; first pitch of Game 7 is at 5:08 p.m. This is a family-friendly, safe and sober event; be sure to bring your own seating. No alcohol will be permitted on the Plaza.
However, most restaurants will be open, including Old Town Pizza, Bistro 103, the Auburn Alehouse, Bootleggers, Cafe Delicias and Tio Pepe’s. Local watering holes, the California Club and Sip will also welcome guests.
Tonight will be the last night Carpe Vino will be serving Chicago Hot Dogs in the Wine Mine; the restaurant and wine bar will be open as well.
This is a very exciting and exhilarating moment for baseball fans everywhere. Win or lose, Drew and I are delighted to help make this an epic evening in Old Town.
Go Cubbies!
