We are absolutely loving the wines from Daou Vineyards in Paso Robles and with these scores, at these prices….so should you!  Yesterday, we were flipping through the latest “WINE ENTHUSIAST”magazine and BOOM…another 93 Point score for the Daou Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon.  That got us thinking…

One month ago, we first introduced the 2017 Daou Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and since have sold nearly 40 cases.  After seeing this new score published in “WINE ENTHUSIAST,” we quickly ordered and received another 15 cases this morning and figured it was time for ROUND TWO, because honestly, we don’t how long these deals are going to last.  Before you scroll down…

We have a SECOND DEAL today on another DAOU wine, 2017 “The Pessimist” a blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Zinfandel.  This wine has also received an honorable rating of 92 Points both by “THE WINE ADVOCATE” and “WINE ENTHUSIAST.”

BOTH WINES OFFERED TODAY ARE THE LOWEST PRICES IN CALIFORNIA.

“…this is a serious wine for serious wine lovers.”

Here are some simple facts – First generation immigrants, George and Daniel Daou, whom studied at UC San Diego and built their entrepreneurial networking technological company to such success it led to the opening of Daou Winery.  We have been on board with this winery since day one and their wines are continually some of the best wines, best values, in California.  With their success, they were able to hire America’s most sought after Master Sommelier Fred Dame (out of retirement) to be their “brand ambassador!”  If Mr. Dame is onboard…then you know it’s a legit wine/winery!

Second – Since this wine launched in 2014, it has scored nothing less than 90 Points from Wine Spectator or Wine Advocate.  Finding a TRUE CABERNET FOR UNDER 20 BUCKS is almost IMPOSSIBLE TO DO!

Third – “90-92 POINTS” Wine Advocate!!!  AND NOW, 93 Points “Wine Enthusiast.”

DEAL #1:

2017 Daou Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles, CA)

$25/bottle retail

$19.95/bottle – 6+ bottles

Wine Advocate: 90 – 92 Points –  Tasted from barrel, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is very promising, revealing a youthfully primary bouquet of currants and plums that’s already integrated its new oak. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, richly structured and generous, with a sun-kissed core of fruit and a dry, fine-grained finish. A cuvée that includes purchased fruit, this is typically a great value. I’m looking forward to seeing it from bottle.

Wine Enthusiast: 93 Points – Aromas of black plum, black olive and violet lead into a texturally dynamic palate loaded with ripe but not overdone black currant, baking spice and vanilla flavors. Strong acidity drives the finish.

Wine Enthusiast – “EDITORS’ CHOICE”

HOT OFF THE PRESS with this new score and review from “Wine Enthusiast” magazine (10/1/2019).   Again, we started thinking, why stop at just the Cab, when you can have some of this delicious red blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Zinfandel too?  So, along with the arrival the Daou Cabernet this morning, we received a healthy shipment of the 2017 “Pessimist” Red Blend as well!

As the winery says, the 2017 “Pessimist“ has a powerful and intensely aromatic nose, broad and expansive on the palate, all while having a smooth and leisurely finish.  Most noticeably, one will find the flavors of blueberry, boysenberry, deep & dark berry fruits, coca and spice throughout this wine.  Perfect for the fall/winter months coming upon us, as with each sip the “Pessimist” will warm you to your core!

DEAL #2 :

2017 The Pessimist (by Daou) Red Wine (Paso Robles, CA)

$25/bottle retail

$19.95/bottle – 6+ bottles

Wine Advocate: 92 Points:  Composed of 27%Syrah, 19% Zinfandel and 54% Petite Sirah, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Pessimist delivers a gregarious nose of ripe black cherries, blackberries and blueberries plus notions of Chinese five spice, mocha and raspberries. Full-bodied, voluptuous, soft and plush, it packs in the fruit cake and exotic spices, finishing with great length.

Wine Enthusiast: 92 Points: This blend of primarily Petite Sirah, Syrah and Zinfandel starts with rich, lush aromas of black cherry, vanilla cream and caramel, with a hint of earth. Framed by solid tannins and bright acidity, the palate runs through similar fruit and spice flavors with plenty of power.
