BURGUNDY GENIUS DAZZLES IN OREGON!!!

WOW!!!  This 91 POINTER has got some serious PEDIGREE!  The 2014 Roserock Pinot Noir is made by Veronique Drouhin.  Name ring a bell???  YES…That is the same Drouhin…as in Maison Joseph Drouhin…one of THE most established Burgundy houses of all time.   The Drouhin Oregon Roserock chapter is the NEWEST in a lineage of winemaking that extends four generations back to 1880 when Joseph Drouhin first began in Beaune…The HEART of Burgundy.

The folks at Roserock are definitely on to something good here…SHOOT onto a GOLD MINE is more like it!!!  Crafted in the traditions and techniques that have made the Drouhin wines a staple over the years, the 2014 Roserock Pinot Noir marries BALANCE, FINESSE, and CHARACTER.  While the nose offers FLORAL and SPICEY notes this pinot is much more FRUIT FORWARD than you’d expect from an Oregon wine.  BOLD flavors of BING CHERRIES and BOYSENBERY JAM are commingled with just a KISS of earthiness.  A GO-TO paring for this would be spiced duck confit however I found myself and my better half polishing off a bottle of this MAGNIFICENT wine all on its own last night! It’s that GOOD!  If you love a sophisticated and complex pinot noir, THIS is the real deal!

“Wine Advocate” Tasting Notes: 91 Points  “The 2014 Roserock Pinot Noir offers blackberry and briary scents on the nose with a touch of earthiness – well defined and quite vivacious in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with dusky blackberry and blueberry fruit. It exerts a gentle grip in the mouth and delivers white pepper sprinkled over the finish that is nicely detailed. This should drink well over the next 8-10 years and at this price, I would be loading up.”

Cheers,
