Today, our timing could not have been more perfect!  We’ve been looking for that ONE zinfandel with that “je ne sais quoi” appeal and we’ve nailed it!  Actually, Gamba Winery nailed it with the 2015 Gamba “Family Ranches” Zinfandel!  Let’s face it…it’s pretty-darn impossible to be perfect especially when there are so many discerning palates to please. But, when you find a wine that can DELIVER on FLAVOR as well as this one…you’re GOLDEN!  All we had to do was supply the goods.  JACKPOT!!!  Winery retail is $45/bottle but purchase six or more bottles now from CV and score it for $24.95/bottle.

Gamba Winery is one the most prominent and premium zinfandel producers in all of Russian River Valley.  Because they’ve been producing EXCELLENT zin’s for so long, six generations in fact, their wines are always consistently DELICIOUS.  You can BANK on them being good right out of the bottle, every time.  There experience is certainly evident as the Gamba Family continues to grow true old-vine zinfandels and the resulting wines are all about INTENSITY, CONCENTRATION, and WEIGHT.

Which leads right in to the final point…the 2015 GAMBA “Family Ranches” ZIN is where it’s at!  It’s more than just some RACY, JAMMY fruit packed in a bottle with a classy label.  It’s HEARTY, SPICY, and it’s moderate tannin lead to a nice PLUSH finish.  Whether you are consuming it on its own or pairing it with your favorite fare, this is easily one of THE best-tasting zinfandels around.  Just ask the CV Faithful who skip the email and buy it by the caseload!

WINERY TASTING NOTES:

The 2015 Family Ranches Zinfandel appears opaque, with an alluring dark ruby garnet color. Aromas of raspberry, blackberry, caramelized nuts and allspice fill the glass. Full in body and juicy on the palate, the wine expresses balanced, yet intense notes of huckleberry and blueberry pie, laced with bramble fruit on the palate. This full-flavored wine offers immediate approachability, with its luscious mouthfeel, depth and complexity. The well-integrated dusty tannins are complimented by cedar and notes of mocha that weave seamlessly on the finish. This bold wine was aged in 40% new American oak cooperage to complement the vibrant fruit flavors. The finish is long and enjoyable with subtle nutty toast and spice notes. Enjoy!

Cheers,
Jay
