Our final BUBBLES deal highlights a wine region that we are sure many are not familiar with… “Franciacorta” a specific grape growing section within the Lombardy region of Italy.  Franciacorta was awarded DOCG status (Italy’s highest designation of quality) in 1995 and until recently was one of Italy’s best kept secrets.  Most think of only Prosecco when it comes to Italian sparkling wines and for money, it’s a great option.  That said, if you are looking for something resembling a true Champagne and produced using the “traditional method” (2nd fermentation in bottle, not tank) then Franciacorta is a sure-fire winner!
