Orma is the acclaimed wine made at a single estate of the same name in Bolgheri, coastal Tuscany’s premier wine village. Originally purchased in the mid-1990’s by Arezzo-born business mogul, Antonio Moretti, Orma is said to be ‘well-born’ due to the estate’s location next to Tenuta dell’Ornellaia and amid the towering cypress trees of the famed Via Bolgherese. With a profile that finds equilibrium between power and finesse, Orma reflects both the unique terroir and the ambitious spirit of its territory.

A blend of 40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc…this Tuscan wine is TASTING AMAZING and like yesterday’s MEMBERS ONLY special, will easily standup to your THANKSGIVING feast and/or XMAS holiday season.  LATELY, we have been all about balance and acidity…think FOOD FIRST.  Deep inky purple in its youth, Passi di Orma is accessible with soft, velvety tannin and heaps of ripe plum and blackberry, but it is also structured and serious.  Layers of decadent fruit are underscored by coffee, vanilla bean, and macchia mediterranea (shrubby plant located in the Mediterranean). A harmonious finish reaffirms the wine’s poise and power.  ONCE AGAIN…THIS IS A STEAL OF A DEAL.

James Suckling, 93 POINTS – A layered and powerful young red from Bolgheri with currants, chocolate and cedar undertones. Full-bodied, layered and polished with beautiful fruit and intensity. A solid and structured wine, highlighting the beauty of the vintage on the coast of Tuscany. Second wine of Orma. Drink in 2020.

Wine Advocate, 90 POINTS – Compared to the preceding vintage, the 2016 Bolgheri Rosso Passi di Orma delivers its primary fruit characteristics in a less obvious manner. There is dark plum and blackberry for sure but the spice, toast and tobacco tones take equal billing. This wine also shows a more robust construction with etched layers of mineral and campfire ash at the back. This vintage shows superior focus and definition. The blend is 40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc.
