If you have been following along over the years, you know that Carpe Vino is a huge fan of the SANGIACOMO VINEYARD, located in Carneros, CA. Formerly a pear orchard, Sangiacomo planted their first vines in 1969 and now one of the premier vineyards for Chard/Pinot Noir in both Sonoma and Napa Valley. Their laundry list of esteemed clients includes; Rombauer, Ram’s Gate, Gregory Graham, Barnett Vineyards, Lloyd, Sojurn, and the list goes on-and-on. Provenance (taken from the French word for “origin” or “source”) could have pick of the litterwhen sourcing fruit for their debut Chard and they chose Sangiacomo. NICE!
As far as Provenance wines go, this DEBUT RELEASE is limited and not found through many retailers. AND…we are the only one offering this price on purchases of 6+ bottles!!! Tasting Notes: “The Provenance 2016 Carneros Chardonnay offers the aromas of Meyer lemon, honeysuckle and jasmine, with the flavors of white peach and Anjou green pear, supported by a gentle framing of toasty spiced oak. Enhanced by aging on the lees, the wine’s texture is silky on the palate, and medium-bodied, harmonizing balance, persistence and a lengthy finish.”
