Exclusive CVWC Event “The Withers”

Even though Andrew Tow’s first commercial release wasn’t until 2014, this project was 35 years in the making.  Combining a personal passion for wine, along with a lot of hard work, he took was meant to be a “few barrels” for friends and family, to being one of the hottest labels in California and/or United States.  In fact, “The Withers” was included on of the “Top 100 Wineries by Wine & Spirits” of 2017 (the youngest winery to ever be named to the list).

Tow’s goal was to “produce elegant, nuanced, balanced, food friendly expressions of cool climate sites, that don’t sacrifice flavors” all evident with the sourcing of his fruit coming from the Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley and El Dorado County.   Recently, Tow purchased over 120 acres outside of Placerville that he had been previously leasing.  If this doesn’t demonstrate his commitment and passion of “The Withers” project…we just don’t know what does.

THE WINES

Andrew’s passion for wine allowed him to form many relationships over those 35 years of a “work in progress.”  One of the most important, hands down, was meeting and collaborating with winemaker David Low.  We can’t write this any better so we’re just going to do a little copy-and-paste from “The Withers” website:

“Mr. Low is an accomplished and acclaimed winemaker, having served in various capacities at William Selyem Winery, as Assistant Winemaker at Papapietro Perry Winery, and as Co-Founder and Winemaker at the award-winning Anthill Farms Winery. He has had a hand in crafting many distinctive and highly rated cool climate Pinot Noirs and Rhone Varietals, as well as Whites and Rosés.”

DROP THE MIC.  ‘NUFF SAID.  Feel free to insert your own expression now, but all we know is that David Low learned from the best, worked for the best and makes some of the best wines on the market, whether it was 10 years ago, present day or for the future.  Ever since we have started carrying “The Withers” it has been one of our “BEST-SELLING” brands across the board.  All of which will be on display April 4th…speaking of which here is the line-up:
