Last Saturday’s CV Wine Club member tasting was such a hit with the Wagner Family of Wines that we had to do it again! That’s right if you missed it, the Caymus Wines are back for an encore and the discounts are HUGE! Every year, vintage after vintage, the Wagner Family has the “Midas Touch” by making wines that are always crowd-pleasers, perfect for any occasion. Even today with total production reaching the 65,000 case mark, each bottle produced possesses the wonderful flavors that we’ve all come to know and love from this classic winery. So, mark your calendars because this Saturday from 1-4 pm you can taste and stock up on these beauties. Plus, we have some of their other delicious gems available for purchase: Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc, Conundrum White Wine, Mer Soliel “Silver” Chardonnay, Meiomi Pinot Noir, and Conundrum Red Wine as well. Here is what we will be pouring this weekend: (please remember two-person maximum per wine club membership, no guests)

2014 Conundrum Sparkling Wine (California)

$24.95/bottle or $19.95/bottle on 6+

Winery Tasting Notes: “Our test of a sparkling wine is drinking the second glass, which should be just as memorable as the first. Conundrum Sparkling is a wine that is drinkable, uncomplicated, elegant and fun with delicate scents of melon and citrus. Crisp flavors of freshly cut fruit come through on the palate, with warm notes of white peach and honeydew layered with a minerality that evokes the clean impression of wet stone. Each sip of this wine lingers in the mouth, with bright lemon and lime and a long, sensuous finish. Serve well-chilled.”

2014MSCHSB.1052002014 Mer Soliel “Reserve” Chardonnay (Santa Barbara)

$31.95/bottle or $22.50/bottle on 6+

Winery Tasting Notes: “We believe in the power of place – even subtle differences in sun, wind and proximity to the ocean can have a strong influence on the wine’s unique character, opening up new possibilities for Chardonnay. Beautiful Santa Barbara County is slightly warmer than the Santa Lucia Highlands, where we first planted Chardonnay grapes in 1988. At harvest we pick the grapes a little earlier than in the Highlands, catering to the climate and creating a wine natural acidity and crispness.”
