“Wine Thing” is Coming on January 28th
Carpe Vino’s signature wine sale and tasting–Wine Thing–is just weeks away, set for January 28th from noon until 3 p.m. We’ll be opening 75+ wines in all styles, varieties and price ranges for the exclusive enjoyment of our beloved and treasured Wine Club members. To sweeten the day, we pile on our best wine pricing of the entire year with the goal of encouraging tasters to stock up for 2017. . .because we may need all of the juice we can get.
Discounts start at 5% on any purchase, with another 1% added for each additional purchase, maxing out at 24% when you buy 24 bottles (two cases) mix & match. Discounts are not limited to wines being tasted; just about everything in the store qualifies except limited “net” wines and those that are already heavily discounted, six-pack deals. However, all wines purchased build to the 24% discount.
Many of you are already familiar with this tasty drill because we’ve reprised it annually since 2003. We bring in our very best brokers and distributors to strut their stuff. Expect some “surprise” wines and maybe even some sleepers.
Caveats: WINE CLUB MEMBERS ONLY, NO GUESTS. You must be a card-carrying Carpe Vinian to join us for this one. . .no wannabes or stowaways. Most importantly, remember that this is a tasting, not a competition. Drink responsibly and arrange for transportation (we do have Uber drivers in Auburn).
We’ll be sending out a password-protected link to a spreadsheet of all wines to Wine Clubbers. Good idea to plot out what you’d like to taste ahead of the opening bell. Also, best to get to Old Town early because the Friendly Confines will be SRO.
You will be handed an order form at the door; wines you select will be billed to your credit card virtually instantly, but we’ll send out an email to let you know when to pick up your juice. . .typically within in 10 days. For those of you who can’t make up your mind on the fly, we’ll keep sales open until January 31.
