Winemaker Bruno D’Alfonso is half of the team at D’Alfonso Curran where he is partners with his winemaking spouse, Kris Curran.  The pair has combined experience of 50 years making wine and they exploit their skills across four brands: one each independently, the combined D’Alfonso-Curran label and a venture called Badge, launched in 2003.

D’Alfonso-Curran don’t maintain any vineyards; they purchase all of the grapes for their wines, principally in Santa Barbara County from the AVAs of St. Rita Hills, Santa Ynez Valley and Happy Canyon.

D’Alfonso’s sweet spot is making pinot.  He started out at Edna Valley vineyard and then worked as winemaker of 23 vintages at Sanford Winery.

Winery Tasting Notes:  “On the palate:  Green papaya, white peaches and Pippin apple with notes of wild white roses and a suggestion of lychee and jalapeño. This stainless steel fermented, non-malolactic, dry white wine has a medium body, finished with bright acidity. ”

Blend:  100% pinot gris
