Founded in 1973 by Fred and Juelle Fisher, Fisher Vineyards grows and produces wines from both its Napa Valley Estate and Spring Mountain Estate (Sonoma County). Today, Fred and Juelle’s three children, Whitney, Robert and Cameron, have joined Fisher Vineyards and are leading the way to a second generation of fine wines.
Winery Tasting Notes: “The 2014 Mountain Estate Chardonnay is a beautiful pale straw color in the glass. On the nose are hints of lime custard, honeydew melon and a subtle note of salinity. As the wine warms, notes of passion fruit and lemongrass intensify along with notes of green apple, caraway seed and vanilla. The palate expands on these aromas with flavors of lemon pot de crème and honeyed apple. The wine shows lively play between salty citrus caramel and papaya honeydew melon that persist on the palate into a lengthy finish.”
Wine Advocate Review (94 pts): “The 2014 Chardonnay Mountain Estate from an Old Wente clone and aged in 50% new French oak is full-bodied with beautiful notes of tangerine oil, orange marmalade, lemon custard, brioche, white peach and pineapple. There is some underlying wet gravel, giving it a stunning minerality. This is a beauty to drink over the next 5-7 years.” – Robert Parker, Jr.
