Winery Tasting Notes: Opens with aromas of blackberry, plum, cola, fig, cigar tobacco, vanilla, cherry, and cocoa. Smooth upon entry, this medium bodied wine leads to a balanced mid palate with pleasant acidity. Flavors of toasted brioche, toffee, cola, and clove come together for a lingering finish.

Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Alcohol Level: 14.1%
Winemaker: Aaron Pott & Kyle Mizuno
Maturity: Drink now – 2022
Production: 240 barrels

Pairings: Sirloin steak on the BBQ with blue cheese and roasted cipollino onions

Fun Facts: Lying between 2000 and 2600 feet in elevation, these mountain vineyards  in the Red Hills Lake County AVA are the result of the same volcanic and tectonic processes that formed the terroir of many of the North Coast’s classic regions. As one would expect of mountain viticulture, elevation moderates temperature extremes and diurnal shifts, allowing for a long growing season that results in complex flavor development. The intensity of flavors is magnified by vine stress from well-drained, iron-rich vineyards littered with black obsidian, quartz crystal, and volcanic gravel.
