WEEK 9 and here we still are! Saying the words “Thank you” for all of the support we have received over the past nine weeks (and 18 years) can never be said enough. Having CV patrons place “To-Go” orders was never in our original business model, but thanks to you it’s been a very successful transition and will continue for the foreseeable future.
With restaurants beginning to reopen, the reality is we never closed. We are so proud of the CV team as their “grit” is the only reason our businesses continue to be open. They have and continue to work tirelessly conceptualizing new menus, new operational methods, all while maintaining the professionalism patrons have come to expect over the years! The most important part, behind the mask, they are still smiling too!
Many are asking when we will be reopening for dine-in service and with full transparency, the answer is “we don’t know.” The guidelines that have been introduced to the restaurant community will work for some, but not all. We feel at the present time, it’s best for us to continue on our path until a more defined, long-term set of rules and regulations are enacted, giving us a true number of seats/patrons, we can accommodate on a nightly basis. What we can tell you, is that the current business model of “To-Go” orders for curbside pick-up or Higgins drop-off, will be the only dining service offered at Carpe Vino now – June 27th. Carpe Vino will be closed June 28th – July 7th at which time we will review the “state of the restaurant industry” and assess our options for dine-in at CV in the future.
We know your options for food service are expanding, but we promise to continue offering the best representation of Carpe Vino with food quality and service, just “To-Go.” We will also be offering more “weekend specials” (new specials available tomorrow 10am), wine & spirits specials and of course changing menus items regularly to not become stagnate. In fact, Chef Dube will have several changes (both small & large plates) starting Wednesday!

• Select your preferred pick-up time between 4PM-7PM.
• All orders must be placed online 45mins before arrival. Online orders will be accepted until 6:15pm with final pick-up at 7pm.
• All orders must be pre-paid and processed successfully before prepared.
• If you graciously decide to add a “gratuity” please know it will be dispersed amongst all of our furloughed staff members.

REMEMBER FOLKS – “Chicago Dogs” come with cold ingredient toppings and the temperature will decrease once leaving Carpe Vino. If you ever been to WRIGLEY FIELD, the same is true by the time you reach your seats!!!

Just before everything changed in our day-to-day lives, we were just about to release TWO new tasting flights revolving around WHISKEY here at Carpe Vino! Simply put, “always be tasting” is our motto and a necessity when introducing new products to our clients. SO…starting today, and while supplies last, we are going to be offering TWO different WHISKEY flights “TO-GO” …with the caveat that you MUST PURCHASE FOOD “TO-GO” as well!
FLIGHT 1 – W.L. WELLER (2oz Each) – $55/flight Special Reserve, Antique 107, 12 Year
Hands down “Weller” is one of our most sought after whiskey brands currently at Carpe Vino & CV Wine & Spirits. Highly allocated is an understatement, as these Bourbons are damn well near impossible to find and if you do find them…expect to be paying anywhere from $85-$350/bottle depending on the label. This is an outstanding opportunity to taste all THREE of these WHEATED BOURBONS, SIDE-BY-SIDE-BY-SIDE, at a very, VERY REASONABLE PRICE. We will be offering 12 of these flights a day for purchase. Also, our supply is limited, so I don’t know if we will make the weekend!
FLIGHT 2 – “Exploring Mash Bills” (2oz Each) – $35/flight W.L. Weller Special Reserve, Eagle Rare 10 Yr, Sazerac 6-Year Rye
This is a great flight to try THREE different Whiskey with mash bills all focusing around different dominant grains. Weller is dominated by wheat (50+%) Sazerac dominated by Rye (50+%) and Eagle Rare, a 10yr aged Bourbon that is a more traditional Bourbon with less that 10% Rye used. Definitely a great way to try three different WHISKEYS all side-by-side-by-side!
